Where your donation goes
Your donation goes where you choose. Gifts made to a specific campaign support that campaign. If circumstances change or a campaign is fully funded, remaining funds go to the most closely related purpose, as reported in our annual report.
How resources are shared
One Shared Future / Un Futuro Compartido distributes resources requested by local organizations in Cuba. Donations are shared fairly among our partner groups, based on their needs.
Transparency and accountability
All team members outside Cuba volunteer their time and expertise, and our volunteers cover their own travel costs to Cuba. Donated funds may cover additional baggage fees for transporting donated items, and payment processing fees are deducted before funds reach us. All items are declared and go through the appropriate customs procedures in Cuba, and our partners distribute them to the people and animals in their communities who need them most.

We ask donors to give items that are safe, clean, functional and suitable for the people and animals we serve. A simple test: would you feel comfortable giving it to someone you care about?
We generally can't accept items that are expired, damaged, heavily worn or unsafe. Some categories, including medicines, medical supplies and veterinary products, have additional requirements, so please contact us before donating them.
