Empowering Communities in Cuba

One Shared Future is a Canadian nonprofit organization committed to supporting communities in Cuba and promoting a more sustainable and compassionate future. We work alongside local people and partners to address real needs, support health initiatives, promote animal welfare and sustainable energy, and improve access to essential resources. We believe that solidarity can become lasting impact when we work together.

Thanks to the generosity of our donors and supporters, more than $45,000 in funds and essential supplies were delivered to community partners in Havana in March 2026. This support helped strengthen locally led efforts and expand access to vital resources during a particularly challenging time.

We officially launched in January 2025 and are just getting started sharing resources with communities in Havana. Our work builds on three years of community partnerships and impact that ultimately led to the creation of our nonprofit. Read our Three-Year Impact Report to learn more. Solar power for 138 families in Campamento 7

Campamento 7, a residential community in Cienfuegos, was built as temporary shelter and later became permanent, rent-free housing for families without a stable home. Even before the current energy crisis, residents regularly endured blackouts lasting up to 24 hours.

We are launching a solar microgrid project that will equip its 23 residential buildings with solar panels and shared battery storage. Residents will help guide the design and operation of the microgrids, which the community itself will manage.
